BLUE JEANS TO THE #DOMINGOSILUSTRADOS.

This Sunday, at the #domingosilustrados, Les Antònies participated with a drawing with blue tones reminiscent of the colours of the jeans.

The background of the drawing is worked with liquid watercolour making watered down and, once dry, a touch of colour waxes, also “watercolourable”. After waiting a few hours in that all moisture is gone (have in mind that the watercolour paper is able to absorb a lot of water and is not damaged), we have done the drawing itself, with a blue marker and white marker to give light and life on the whole.

You already know where to find us: on FB with the tag #domingosilustrados to share the illustrations, drawings, doodles, mixed media, collages and all your creations.

ALL THE BLUES IN THE WORLD!!!

FRESH FLOWER TO THE #DOMINGOSILUSTRADOS.

This Sunday, Les Antònies, have made a watercolour flower with a very fresh and summery air.

To begin with, with grey wax pencils, we have drawn a very naïve flower. Right away, we played with liquid watercolour, washes, in different shades of blue for the flower and green for the leaves. Once the watercolour has been wiped off, we have highlighted with white marker and we ended up giving a touch with pure watercolour, without water. In the end, we have drawn the letters with metallic blue marker.

We look forward to your drawings, illustrations, mixed media, paintings, doodles and collages, as always, to the FB page with the tag #domingosilustrados.

THE FRESH OF THE SUMMER IS BLUE!!!

Nosaltres us farem la nostra versió.

FRIENDSHIP STAR: TUTORIAL PATCHWORK.

FRIENDSHIP STAR: PATCHWORK TUTORIAL.

This week, Les Antònies, present you a tutorial of a star block: the Friendship star.

Is an easy, fast and colourful block and you can make a lot of variations. We are going to do our version.

We have only used three fabrics: 4 squares of white piqué, of 12X12cm; 2 print squares of 12X12cm; 2 lilac squares of 12X12cm and 1 lilac square of 11X11cm (1). Do the couples: 1 white square with each one of the other squares and leave aside the small lilac square (2).

Face de couples and behind one of the tissues (best to do it in the lightest), with a pencil, mark a diagonal (3). Sew to each side of the line drawn, leaving a margin of 0‘5 cm, more or less (4). Cut to the line drawn between the seams (5) and we already have two squares with triangle (6). We have to do with all the pairs, obtaining 8 squares of 11X11cm (7).

Continue placing all the parts to assemble the block (8). Note on the four centre pieces: is the composition of the Friendship star. We can already begin to sew as always, after trimming the spare tips and ironing: join, strip by strip, the first square with the central (9); the third square with the above two (10) to obtain the three strips (11), which we will attach as usual, then ironing the seams: the first with the central (12) and the third in the previous two (13).

After fit and iron, we already have the block, which you can see in the annex. Also we have done the drawing of four blocks mounted, to see the effect, plus measures and quantity of tissues.

We have already said that it was a star very easy to do, which is why we encourage you to try it and enjoy the friendship of this block, just like us, day after day, share and enjoy your friendship.

A HYMN TO FRIENDSHIP FROM SIDE TO SIDE OF THE WORLD!!!

Compartiu els doodles, dibuixos, il·lustracions, mixed media...

TAQUES ESPONTANIES I MULTICOLORS!!!

¡¡¡MANCHAS ESPONTANEAS Y MULTICOLORES!!!

TIE DYE AND DOODLES TO THE #DOMINGOSILUSTRADOS.

Les Antònies wanted to recreate, for this new edition of the #domingosilustrados, the hippies Tie Dye effect prints. As you can see, we have come with us, without thinking or planning anything; all spontaneous.

We have been working on watercolour paper. We started soaking the paper with water and, right away, we made blobs of liquid watercolour in different colours, letting it had spread and the mould will indiscriminately. When we already had the base dry, with thick black marker, we have drawn the doodle, we have given some hints with black marker fine tip and we are done drawing the details with white marker.

We find everyone, like every sunday, on FB with tag #domingosilustrados. Share the doodles, drawings, illustrations, mixed media...

SPONTANEOUS AND MULTICOLORED STAINS!!!

OTRO MOLINILLO: TUTORIAL PATCHWORK.

ANOTHER PINWHEEL: PATCHWORK TUTORIAL.

Day by day, Les Antònies, we're finding with blocks of different pinwheels. This week is a very easy and fun to do. We wanted to give it a certain Japanese air, but it is ideal to do with patterned fabrics and colours very bright and cheerful.

We start the tutorial giving you the sizes and quantities, although you will find in the annex. We used three fabrics: the block itself, in two fabrics in black and white, with the same print, but with positive/negative effect. Of these we need 2 squares of each of 12X12cm. For finishing block we used strips in a flower print, very painterly, which does not have anything to do with the others, by contrast to the fullest. We recommend you cut the strips with the block finished and adjust measuring long; more or less you will need to 50cmX3cm wide (1).

Before sewing anything, we need to cut. Place the four squares, one on top of the other, all in the same direction (2). If you can do this with all together, cut, with a biased, in the centre (3); If on the contrary, you can’t do with all the fabrics together, draw with pencil the same way in all the squares and cut: we need to keep all the same unequal (4). With this fact, allocate couples as we show you (5).

We can already begin to sew. Note how we have to place the cloth: to match the hand, although it seems that it is biased (6). We have to get 4 two-tone rectangles (7). You distribute them as you see in the drawing (8). As you can see, because they are not being square, they are unbalance. We have opted to cut back once we have sewn. We are interested in that are well positioned in the centre, that's why sew by adjusting the pieces in the middle. Sew the pieces together by strips (9) and we get two L (10) that join, focusing very well so that they are well centred (11). Now you can trim the excess (12) and fit it very well (13).

Now we are going to frame the block. Placing the strips (14) and sew as if it were a Log Cabin (15), spiralling.

The block is finished. As you can see, in annex with measures and quantities, how it is finished and also we give you the option of combining four blocks, making the negative/positive block.

We hope that you enjoyed this new version of the pinwheel and will be bold to try this technique.

THE PINWHEELS ARE FOR THE SUMMER!!!
